With great excitement, I introduce myself as the Carnegie Elementary Principal. My name is Jenna Mozzocio, and I am honored to join the dedicated administrators, committed staff, and passionate community here at Carnegie Elementary. Serving the community in this capacity is an extreme privilege.

Carnegie and the entire Carlynton School District are full of initiatives, accomplishments, and positive outcomes. I champion and applaud each of them. In particular, the value of traditions, enhanced culture and diversity, and the high standards of success for every child.

I look forward to conversations and meetings with you throughout the school year. The promise of our partnership will see our children through an exceptional education journey.

In assisting every student in succeeding, I commit to ensuring a wide range of opportunities and providing enhanced learning tailored to individual goals and personal results. In addition, I commit to prioritizing the well-being and accomplishments of every young scholar throughout their elementary school years. As partners in education, we will see our Cougars from foundation to fulfilling futures well equipped for the challenges of tomorrow. Every learner will begin paving their pathway to passion.

Kind regards,

Jenna Mozzocio

Carnegie Elementary Principal

FRESH FRUIT & VEGETABLE PROGRAM (FFVP) AT CARNEGIE ELEMENTARY

The United States Department of Agriculture Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) provides students with a fresh fruit or vegetable snack at school during the school day to increase their consumption of healthy foods, exposure to a variety of fruits and vegetables and promote a healthier school environment. The 2008 Farm Bill expanded the program which was previously only available to 25 schools in Pennsylvania. The number of schools selected each year is based upon federal funding. Participation is limited to elementary schools that participate in the National School Lunch Program with free and reduced eligibility rates at or above 50%. The FFVP is administered at the state level by The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), the same agency that administers the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).

Three times per week, students at Carnegie Elementary receive fruits or vegetables during the school day outside of the normal meal service (breakfast and lunch). The FFVP allows children to try new fruits and vegetables and teaches them the importance of a healthy diet.
